LogPod — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
1. Definitions
In this policy:
- "the Supplier" (also "we", "us", "our") means Tin King Tai, of 5E, 5 Science Park East Avenue, Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong, who operates LogPod and is the data user responsible for the personal data described below.
- "the User" (also "you", "your") means the individual who holds a LogPod account.
- "the App" means the LogPod application for iOS.
- "a Team" means a crew whose members share a roster, training sessions and plans in the App.
- "a Roster Entry" means a name, and optionally a weight, recorded against a Team. A Roster Entry is not an account and cannot sign in.
The Supplier may be contacted about anything in this policy at [email protected].
2. Scope
The App is a training tool for dragon boat crews. This policy explains what personal data it collects, why, who can see it, and what happens when you ask for a copy or ask for it to be deleted.
3. Who may use the App
Accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or older to create one. A coach may add a squad member as a Roster Entry; that is not an account. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child holds an account, write to us and we will remove it.
4. What is collected, and why
Everything below is collected because a feature of the App needs it. It is used to provide and improve the App and for no other purpose. None of it is used for advertising, sold, or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
| What | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | It is how you sign in. A numeric code is sent to it; there is no password by default. | You, and the Supplier |
| Account identifier | Links your sign-in to your Roster Entry and your sessions. | You, and your Team |
| Your display name | Shown on the Team roster so a crew can recognise each other. | Everyone on your Team |
| Profile photo, if you add one | Shown beside your name on the roster and the boat plan. You choose it from your photo library or take it with the camera; only the picture you choose is uploaded. | Everyone on your Team |
| Body weight, if recorded | Balancing a boat depends on where weight sits. Optional. | Coaches and admins of your Team only |
| Height and strength figures, if recorded | Lets a coach set gym work from numbers rather than guesswork. Optional. | Coaches and admins of your Team only |
| Training sessions — distance, duration, splits, stroke rate | The point of the App. | You, and your Team |
| Sessions you choose to share | Sharing a session shows it to your Team with an optional note. Nothing is shared until you tap share, and a shared session is visible inside the App to Team members only — never on the web. | Your Team |
| What you write to a Team — announcements, comments on the Team feed, session notes, practice plans | They are the Team's record of what was said and planned. | Everyone on your Team |
| Reports you submit about content or a member | So a report can be acted on, and so the same one is not filed twice. | The Supplier, and your Team's admins |
| Team name | Free text chosen when a Team is created. | Everyone on your Team |
| Attendance and roll call | A coach records who was present. | Everyone on your Team |
| Installation identifier | A random value generated on your device so a retried request does not create the same thing twice. Not an advertising identifier and not tied to your hardware. | The Supplier only |
4.1 What is not collected
- Your location is used, but not collected. The two are different and the difference matters, so it is set out in section 5. Nothing sends your position anywhere: it is read on your phone, used on your phone, and stays there.
- No access to your photo library beyond the single picture you choose. The App cannot browse your library; iOS hands it one image.
- No contacts, and no data from Apple Health.
- No diagnostics or crash reports.
- No advertising or analytics software. The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution components, and keeps no record of which screens you open or what you tap.
- No tracking. The Supplier does not link your data with data from other companies' apps or websites, and does not share it with data brokers. The App therefore does not ask for permission to track, because there is nothing to ask about.
5. Recording a session
When you start a recording, the App reads your location and your phone's motion sensor, and keeps reading them while the recording runs — including when the screen is off and the phone is in a pocket, which is why iOS shows its blue location indicator. Both are needed to work out distance, speed and stroke rate.
It stops when you stop the recording. The App never asks for location outside a recording, and never asks for background or "always" access.
What happens to it:
- The distance, duration, splits and stroke rate become a training session, which you and your Team can see.
- The raw positions and motion samples are written to a file on your phone, so a distance can be checked afterwards rather than taken on trust. That file stays on your device. Nothing uploads it.
- You can read, copy or delete that file yourself through the iOS Files app, and deleting a recording in the App deletes it too.
If a future release sends the route itself to the Supplier's servers, this policy, the App Store privacy label and the App's privacy manifest all change in that same release — before the feature ships, not after.
6. What other people can see
The App is built for a crew, so most of what you record is visible to your Team by design. Section 4 states, for each kind of data, who can see it. Two things bear repeating:
- Your weight and strength figures are visible to the coaches and admins of your Team, and to nobody else.
- What you write to a Team can be read by everyone on that Team. Do not put anything in a name, a note or an announcement that you would not want the whole crew to read.
7. Where data is held
Application data is stored with Supabase, hosted in Seoul, South Korea (AWS ap-northeast-2). Sign-in emails are delivered by Resend. Both process data on the Supplier's instructions and for no other purpose.
8. How long it is kept
Your data stays while your account exists. There is no automatic expiry.
When you delete your account, deletion is immediate and it is not all identical:
- Removed outright — your private details including any recorded weight, height and strength figures, your profile photo, your reactions, your notification settings, any device tokens, and your Team memberships.
- Disconnected from you — your Roster Entry stays on the Team as an unclaimed name with the date you left, so that past sessions the crew trained together still make sense. It is no longer linked to your account.
- Withdrawn but retained — anything you authored for a Team is marked as withdrawn rather than erased, so the Team's history does not develop holes.
If you own a Team with other active members, you must transfer ownership before you can delete your account. A Team where you are the only member is removed with you.
9. Your rights
You may ask the Supplier for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. The quickest route to deletion is in the App, under 我的 → 刪除帳號. For anything else, write to [email protected]; we will respond within 3 to 5 business days.
If you are in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance gives you the right to ask whether we hold data about you, to be given a copy of it, and to have it corrected. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
10. Changes
If the App starts collecting something new, this page and the App Store privacy label are updated in the same release that introduces it, not afterwards.
